Diesel Goblin is a fantasy, semi real world based on modern day America, specifically the American Trucking Industry. It satires the working life of a young trucker at the beginning of his career in the harsh world of over-the-road trucking. As he racks up miles on the road, he also racks up people problems, traffic tickets, experience, stress, but most of all, Money, and most importantly, life lessons.
While Andrew A. Dillon is still a very young man, he has much to learn not only about his new career, but life in general. He learns all kinds of things from different people, his many trainers and co drivers met while traveling all over the country, and even the not so good people and beings he comes across, and all these experiences and lessons serve to promote his growth as a person and develop much needed maturity and discipline.
While some of the whacky scenarios and paranormal happenings seem pretty far out, they all teach an important lesson that build a much tougher exterior and interior for the young truck driver, but the goal is, no matter what threat may arise or jump out in front of the road, it is up to Andrew and whoever is co driving to make sure that load gets to where it needs to be (sometimes late, sometimes on time) and make some money.
I first started laying down the concept and designing characters for this world in the year of 2018, not long after starting my new career as a truck driver in the ever so difficult trucking industry. One of, if not the biggest challenge as a trucker, is dealing with boredom, and ironically, that is the reason for the conception of Diesel Goblin. A lot of the episode concepts and characters are based on real life scenarios, experiences and people that I have met back in those younger years of my career.
Since the making of this comic, six years ago now, I have already completed several episodes of what I would say would be the first season.
